  Who is Anna Jarrett?

Anna Jarrett is an internationally acclaimed storyteller and accredited trainer. Her magical tale telling has been featured at major festivals including the New Orleans Jazzfest, The Australian National Festival of Storytelling the Woodford Folk Festival and the National Folk Festival.

Combining twenty years experience as a community artist and educator, Anna enjoys storytelling with people of all ages. Jarrett sees her role as a storyteller to bring children, families and communities together to facilitate story sharing, to create new stories and to celebrate their life stories and community history. Anna’s creative workshops have helped thousands of people around Australia to share their stories as part of events such as Seniors Week, International Women's Day and History Week.

Dedicated to nurturing a storytelling culture back into our communities, Anna enjoys collaborating on projects which look into, reflect and celebrate the unique cultures within each community. Through story circles, artist residencies, retreats, school tours, consultancy work, community cultural projects, oral history projects,  professional development workshops and special events, Anna is working with a network of storytellers around Australia who are creating places and spaces for the oral tradition of storytelling, to become an integral part of our cultures and lives.

Anna has recently joined her creative talents with those of Ann Lehmann, to produce 'Once Upon A Song'.  This is a Kid's CD, full of delightful nursery rhymes and children's tales.
Taking an original and imaginative approach to nursery rhymes and the stories behind them, 'Once Upon A Song', is a delightful celebration of the songs all children know and love, with an Aussie twist. With twenty two songs, a musical story, children’s voices and lots of variation in the individual arrangements, this CD provides a fresh listening experience for both children and adults. Its made to be played and enjoyed at parties,
in the car, in preschools, at home and wherever else you can think of!

Anna lives in Batemans Bay, South Coast NSW and is of the genre 'travelling storytellers'.
