As we, in the Land of Oz, approach the 'Winter Solstice' - the setting sun partly lights the face of Georgina Parsons; in the background is the Moruya River

Who is Georgina Parsons?

Hello, my name is Georgina Parsons (known also as 'Aunty Coop').  I'm an Aboriginal woman, born in Batemans Bay, and am a member of the Walbunja Group.  Now I live in Moruya.

I have been painting most of my life - since I was old enough to hold a brush.
.
My painting called 'Tom - the Killer Whale' is based on the experiences of my grandfather Dan Parsons who was a whaler at Twofold Bay at Eden on the Far South Coast.

My personal totem is the Sea Eagle.

Georgina, in addition to being an Indigenous artist,  is also a talented Indigenous storyteller.

If you want to know more about any of my works or stories, please contact me
through Art Central.
